Hello, my name is Yoko Boucher and I LOST 20 LBS!! I have maintained the weight for two years under the expert instruction of Karla Adams.

In the beginning, I was 134 lbs, I knew I was overweight, my face was round and I had almost no waist line.  I was wearing size 10–12 loose top slacks with loose elastic band.  I didn’t like my style or my fashion. My journey has begun. That was 2 years ago.

My friends were kind and ignored my size by not criticizing me for being overweight.  However, my true friend Mr. Takahashi in Sendai mentioned to me that I was starting to look like a pig.  In addition, Mr. Fujii (previous mayor of Sendai) politely said to me, “Yoko-San, you are getting round.” That means I am getting fat.  My husband, Tom, agreed with the comment.

I tried exercise, diet, a European spa with salt, Expensive French Lait products to tighten up muscles and seaweed wrapping for six months.  Nothing worked.

I needed professional help from a consultant and trainer.  After three weeks of exercising and dieting under Karla’s direction, I lost 14 lbs.  I could wear stylish dresses and my dress size was a 6.  Wow!!!   Not only did I look fashionable, my cholesterol level came down from 220 to 190.  All my friends noticed my new image and I felt wonderful.  My husband said I looked great.

From that point on, I knew I wanted to obtain my original goal of 115 lbs. At a height of 5’2’’ and small frame, 115 lbs is an appropriate weight. So under Karla’s instruction twice a week, I have been maintaining my weight at 115 lbs with diet and exercise for over a year.

During this time I have had with Karla, it has been fun and tough but she has always been there to listen to me and to look over me as an instructor and a friend.  She is always professional, disciplined, pleasant, talented, and cute.  Now she is one of my best friends.
