Marathon Training and There Nutrition

Vegetarian’s training for marathons have different nutritional needs then one’s that are living a life style of little to no exercise. Exercise increases the bodies need for vitamins, calories, nutritious, water, ext.

Among the many things that is hard for vegetarians to get enough of is protein. Protein is the only things that rebuild muscle when it has been torn down from training. If your are not getting enough protein you may feel fatigued, recover slowly, week during your training.

This is Sharon La Valley’s third year as a loper, she has completed one marathon and five half marathons. One year ago she realized that she had hit a wall in her personal training and turned to Karla for professional advice. As a vegetarian it was difficult to build up muscle and stamina required for running a marathon. Sharon had a goal to finish Los Angeles marathon 2005 feeling strong.  She also wanted to tone up and look fit. In three months she dropped fifteen pounds and three dress sizes. Maintaining a healthy diet and combining intensive gym training four days a week, allowed Sharon to complete her first marathon in the top 49% of participating female athletes.  “Karla’s program really does work if you’re committed to a goal; I’ve kept the physique I obtained last year by maintaining a modified regiment of gym work outs, running and proper nutrition” says Sharon.
